A cabin located on a wooded bluff area above Puget Sound, the area of 1300 square meters. Residence that looks very minimalist is dubbed Lopez Island Cabin, like a traditional retreat that has a shape and contemporary style. This is a project undertaken by Stuart Silk Architects, is equipped with several rooms, two bedrooms and two bathrooms are simple and small. Completion of this project make use of some simple materials, with an efficient plan to create a form, striking sculpture. Living room facing towards the west, bordered by glass walls as high as 14 feet, which gives uninterrupted views of the site of the Sound and mountains. Equipped with a single shed roof cantilevers over this space, evoking a sense of protection and blur the distinction between interior and exterior.

For materials and methods of house construction uses materials that can be done with low maintenance, but it can also be more stressed and economic and energy conservation. Slab-on-grade construction is used for interior floors and an adjacent terrace, simplify construction and minimize the use of raw materials. Corrugated metal siding and locally sourced ground face concrete block (used in interior spaces and exterior) are durable, economical and true to the aesthetics of the cabin. Part concrete block walls, and floors also function as a thermal mass, which may serve to regulate interior temperatures by storing heat during the day and release it at night. On top of block walls, clerestory windows combine three sides with floor to ceiling glass flood the interior spaces with daylight and reduces energy costs associated with artificial lighting. Birch veneer plywood ceiling panels feature a light from the roof as it towered above the living space.
